NADH Objectives
- To protect the rights of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people
- To collect statistical data regarding Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the country
- To develop Nepali Sign Language (NSL), publish & print dictionaries and disseminate them
- To develop NSL curriculum and to conduct NSL classes for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population and hearing people too
- To work towards developing self-reliance among the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population and involving them in different vocational activities and skill developments training programs
- To provide financial assistance to district associations of the deaf in support of their programs
- To raise awareness through media using the communication behaviour strategy
- To train NSL Interpreters for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people
- To coordinate with the Welfare Society for Hearing – Impaired (WSHI), an educational institution for the Deaf people, for the educational development of the deaf
- To coordinate with government agencies concerned in framing policies and legislation for consolidating the rights and welfare of the deaf and hard of hearing people
